Reconnecting in Sonoma

After a long hiatus it felt incredibly good to DJ for a wedding celebration at the beautiful Beltane Ranch in Sonoma County. Eating, dancing, laughing and reconnecting until those mighty oak trees was just what everyone needed after living in lockdown for over 12 months.

I was so happy to be able to play some familiar songs that helped create some memories that will last until we meet again.

Best Summer Camp Ever!

The pictures cannot do justice in capturing the incredible day we had yesterday at the Gatekeeper’s Museum on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Sarah and Luke thank you for making me a part of the celebration, I felt honored to be among your friends and family enjoying the love and happiness. Pure vibes all around.

I’ll be thinking about this one for a long long time. ❤

What Uplighting Adds to a Wedding Reception

Hey gang, how was your weekend? Mine was spent at a fantastic wedding at the Carmel Valley Ranch. Here’s a quick clip highlighting my new lighting setup. Definitely added to the energy and celebration without being over the top or cheesy. I ran the lights in a static color during dinner and early dancing. When it was time to “turn up” the lights went into a sound-activated mode that matched the beat of the songs perfectly.

What do you think, is uplighting right for your reception? Let me know in the comments below.

Top Wedding Reception Songs of 2014

One of the most frequent questions I get from prospective clients is how I balance current pop music with wedding “classics.” My answer is the same here as it is elsewhere: it comes down to preparation. I’m a professional and it’s my job to be ready for everything. It’s also my job to make sure every guest is having a great time. That means having enough talent to blend the “old” with the new. I love to mix these current hits with the beats of old classics. As a DJ when you hear people screaming out YES you know you’re doing a great job. Nothing is better than that!

Here are my “gotta-get must plays” for 2014 weddings. These new tunes are catchy, exciting and will catch fire on your dance floor. Enjoy the playlist and tell me what you think in the comments below!
